Appearance:

Scruffy/handsome with unkempt hair and the kind of long, pinched face you'd associate with hunger. He's all hollows--cheekbones, beneath the eyes. He tends to wear a hat jammed onto his messy hair and a long, red overcoat with slim pants. He looks pretty skinny but it's all muscle, and misleading. He could be a pretty boy type if he cleaned up, but that's unlikely either for him or the current setting. Image-wise he fits right in to the ruined structures.

Personality:

Asshole incarnate with a decent heart beneath it all. He's not a team player unless forced. He'll go it alone if he has his way, though he'll associate with others--he's just not big on causes. Fighting for them, staking moral sides on. He suffers intense bouts of guilt from his past, and that makes him keep people at arm's length. For that reason, he also can't stand his Persona abilities and would be all too happy to keep them buried, forever.

Talents: Axe-swinging, cooking (not that he'd readily admit it,) taking care of dogs, reacting quick in a crisis.

Downsides: Asshole syndrome. Never afraid to tell people off, even those close to him. He's firmly on his own agenda, whatever that is, so forget about loyalty. Not that he's into betraying anyone, he just prefers to be on his own page.

Changes in Discedo: After seven months of trials and events in Discedo, Shinji has undergone a few changes--some for the better, others not so much. His guilt complex actually worsened due to yet another death with his name on it, and a few other incidents. He nearly lost his mind at one point and developed some unhealthy ways of relieving his guilt.

Aside from that, change is good. He's come to want his second chance in Discedo with a passion. He now owns the bar/restaurant called the Northern Lights, which is the physical expression of that hope for him. He's still a rude asshole--but he's relaxed a little and let a few people in, at least, and talks easily enough with the rest of the city. In living through so much (and wanting to) he has found value he never understood in life, and would never throw it away easily now.
